Drummer and Educator
Sithija Dilshan is a drummer, educator from Colombo, Sri Lanka. Mostly self-taught, he started off playing drums for various Alternative Rock, Progressive Metal acts at the time. After completing his studies and a short stint in the corporate world, he started playing music professionally and gained experience in live performances and touring.
He joined Musicmatters staff in the early 2017 as an educator for drums, theory and ensemble. He is also a member of the Musicmatters Collective and the Fish Climbs Tree Records team where he has participated in many experimental musical ensembles and concerts.
He is currently engaged in personal research on understanding different principles and forms of various percussion musical expressions from around the world and their relationship to the respective cultures.
