Isuru Kumarasinghe is a self-taught experimental musician and sound artist from Sri Lanka. His interests are in the perception of listening as a practice, as well as the experience of sound and sound movements. He works within the field of electronic music improvisation, field recordings, sound installations, sound performance and collaborates with contemporary dance and theatre makers. Kumarasinghe is a cofounder of the Musicmatters collective in Colombo, of which its members musically engage with each other in various combinations and formats and organizes regular events. Currently he is engaged in a long term collaboration with choreographer Sara Mikolai from Berlin.
